Dream It – Travel It Series 21: Lost in the Beauty of Ladakh: Unforgettable Adventure of Neha

Neha had always dreamt of visiting Ladakh, the land of high passes, where the Himalayas meet the sky. This year, she finally made it happen, embarking on a solo adventure that took her through some of the most surreal landscapes on Earth.

Her journey began in Leh, where she acclimatized to the high altitude before exploring the town’s rich history. She visited Shanti Stupa, where the panoramic view of the city at sunset left her speechless. Wandering through Leh Palace, she imagined the stories of Ladakhi kings who once ruled this mystical land.

Next, she set off on an adventurous ride to Pangong Lake, a mesmerizing stretch of crystal-clear blue water surrounded by rugged mountains. As she sat by the shore, watching the lake change colors with the sun, she felt a deep sense of peace.

Her adventure continued to Nubra Valley, a high-altitude desert where double-humped camels roamed the cold sand dunes of Hunder. Riding through the valley on a camel, she marveled at the contrast between the golden sands and the snow-capped peaks in the distance.

Neha’s trip wasn’t just about nature; it was also about spirituality. She visited Diskit Monastery, where a towering statue of Maitreya Buddha stood, symbolizing peace and compassion. The monks welcomed her with warm smiles, and the sound of prayer wheels spinning in the wind filled the air.

Before leaving Ladakh, she took on the challenge of crossing Khardung La, one of the highest motorable roads in the world. Standing at the top, with the vast Himalayas stretching in every direction, she felt an overwhelming sense of accomplishment.
